IOTA Q2 2026 is not a crypto update. It is a trade infrastructure build. ⚓️Ports, customs data, payment rails. Here is what moved. Thread below. 🚚💐 1. A structural pivot, not a feature release IOTA Foundation consolidated engineering, research, design, and product into a single pipeline, moving away from general-purpose blockchain work to focus on TWIN, its digital trade infrastructure. This is a bet on readiness for procurement cycles, compliance requirements, and institutional procurement timelines. Not a crypto-cycle move. 2. Network hardening: Starfish consensus live Starfish activated on Mainnet on April 23, 2026, alongside Protocol Version 29, which added smart contract safety and edge-case protection. Back in January, $IOTA mentioned in its manifesto that 5 country pilots were expected to go live So far, 3 have been announced through ADAPT: 🇰🇪🇲🇦🇳🇬Kenya, Morocco and Nigeria That means 2 more are still expected for this year. (?) What makes it interesting is that IOTA specifically mentioned North America as one of the target regions. And this connects with something Dominik said about a year ago: pilots were already underway to ship goods between the U.S. and other countries. This could matter a lot. Especially because Salus is already showing how TWIN/IOTA can be used around real-world trade finance, critical minerals, verified documents and U.S.-linked buyers. Head of Salus also visited Washington D.C some time ago. Then there is Southeast Asia. 🇻🇳Vietnam was already mentioned last year as a possible pilot candidate, which would fit the regional clue very well. And with Africa being the strongest current rollout region, one more African country is also still possible. $IOTA is designing a commercial model and also hinting a launch That was the biggest takeaway for me from the Q2 update. 🇰🇪 Kenya IOTA and Trademark Africa aligned on a self-sustaining commercial framework for TWIN. Including operational structures and future fee models. To me, that's a meaningful shift. The discussion seems to be moving from "Can this work?" to "How do we run this as a business?" And there was another detail that caught my eye. 📦TLIP Sounds like TLIP could be approaching its public release. The report literally says they're positioning TLIP for public release while completing governance and data protection work in Kenya. On the technical side, TLIP v1.3.9 achieved a 95% pass rate across active test profiles and successfully validated node-to-node document exchange between Kenyan authorities. 🌍 ADAPT Implementation is now officially underway. The first three countries are live: Kenya, Morocco, and Nigeria. Institutional rollout continues. Talks are underway with the ICC and global banking institutions to support scaling. 🇬🇧UK Infrastructure deployments are moving ahead with port authorities, freight forwarders, and trade bodies, while five core organizations have signed the ISN MoU. And don't forget what was already announced: @TWINGlobalOrg is expected to go live across several major UK port systems later this year. Will that fix the token price overnight? Obviously not. But if you've been worried that the Foundation is just burning runway without a path to commercialization, this update is one of the strongest signals yet that they're thinking beyond pilots and toward operating a real business.
