🧵 Circle’s Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) is now live on @StellarOrg At first glance, this may appear to be a technical integration. In reality, it is a strategically significant step for Stellar’s position in global payments and stablecoin infrastructure. CCTP allows native $USDC to move directly between supported blockchains. The mechanism is simple. USDC is burned on the originating network and reissued natively on the destination network. No wrapped assets. No conventional bridge structures. No additional custodial layers. This matters because cross-chain transfers have historically introduced operational and security risks.
