I’ve been obsessed with Account Abstraction since ERC-4337 went live in early 2023.

Back then it felt like a developer-only experiment because it was cool on paper, but clunky in practice.

Fast-forward to April 2026, and I’m living it every single day. My main wallet is now an AA smart account on Base.

And the data backs up what I’m experiencing. The growth is real, measurable, and accelerating.

As of the latest Ethereum roadmap update, ERC-4337 has delivered over 26M smart wallets deployed and more than 170M UserOperations processed across EVM chains.
