From my understanding, Memeland’s new Captainz art and system will transition the collection from a traditional PFP into a pure digital collectible model, based more on how TCG rarity works.
I think gamifying the reveal is always fun.
I remember Ultraman on Abstract recently innovating in a similar way.
However, removing the main medium of proliferation, the social media PFP, and moving away from traditional NFT rarity rules is a huge risk.
Because now, you are essentially no longer catering directly to NFT collectors.
Assuming the NFT superfan model is over for good after the MEME drop, I would say the intrinsic value of these assets becomes strictly tied to the success of the Captainz brand and the Captainz TCG.
And today, that value is still almost zero. 🥵
Let’s see where this goes.
I would not rule out a physical edition or redeemable product paired with the new reveal, especially if a physical Memeland TCG is really coming.
The team used to cook hard back in the Potatoz days.
Can they return to their golden era?
.@Memeland just dropped a new reveal mechanic that go against from how the NFT PFP space has done art reveals for the past 4 years.
and for the first time, it seems like an NFT token will be used as part of the reveal mechanism.👀
Here's how it works:
> Convert NFTs back into something like TCG booster packs, creating this new art reveal experience
> Upon reveal, rarer captains will have this "holo effects", so instead of the usual trait-based rarity, it seems like Memeland is exploring a new direction on how "rare" is going to be gauged for NFTs.
> Multiple rips per pack possible as hinted by Kevin, likely gated by $MEME spend, which would double as a token sink.
Memeland has always been known to venture on new territories and creative directions for their product experiences.
A must need especially with little to no innovations happening on the NFT PFP space for the past few years.
Now, the most important question is: do you think this is something that everyone will find exciting or rather alienate t

Chart measuring the meme ecosystem by market cap.
Since the September 2025 peak, we fell to February lows. More than half a year of meme death and destruction.
But... since the bearish trend broke in early April, the market has risen 45% from a market cap of $26B to almost $36B.
Signal of all the risk on we have had where many runners performed well in the trenches.
Are we still rising or is this the beginning of a pullback? What do you think?
