Token unlocks are coming back as a risk for altcoins

This week the market will be watching another round of large token unlocks. A token unlock means that previously locked tokens enter circulation and can be sold by investors, the team, or earlier participants of financing rounds.

The largest of them concerns RAIN, where the unlock value is expected to reach several hundred million dollars. Large unlocks also appear for PUMP and ADI, so these projects may be more closely watched by traders.

For altcoins this is often an important moment, because higher supply can put pressure on price, especially if the project lacks strong demand. Even a good project may look weak in short term if many new tokens appear on market.
