Cosmos Hub uses a dynamic inflation model to support staking. New ATOM is minted by the protocol and distributed to stakers (validators + delegators). I’m seeing a lot of actors fighting this proposal. Some are concerned about the minting aspect - fair enough, that’s a valid discussion. But others don’t want to see any USTC staking system on-chain at all. So ask yourself this 👇 Are these concerns really about protecting the chain… or are some putting their own projects and interests ahead of the ecosystem? If the goal is to grow Terra Classic, we should be open to exploring mechanisms that increase utility and participation - not shutting them down before they’re even built. Did you ever stop to think where your staking rewards come from? The ones you’re getting less and less of when staking LUNC… Yes - you’re right. They were minted. If nothing is done, we’re heading toward a point where: → rewards keep decreasing → APR drops (this year ~2%) And then what happens? Addressing the elephant in the room 👇 The proposal live right now is just a signal proposal. It is ONLY asking if the community wants to explore the creation of a USTC staking system -nothing more. No minting No funds No implementation Just a signal. Only AFTER this passes: → a technical proposal would be created → the system would be built and tested → and only later would funding options even be discussed And let’s be clear 👇 Minting is the last option, not the first. Other routes come before: → fees like mm2 ,burn tax etc → voluntary contributions, protocols → unused / official dead protocols And even then… If you don’t like it at that stage - you can block it. So trying to kill this now at signal stage, raises a fair question 👇 Is this really about risk… or about not want to see U ST C staking exist at all? By introducing a USTC staking system, we could: → remove USTC from circulation → reduce available supply → potentially strengthen price Now connect the dots 👇 LUNC staking rewards are paid in LUNC + USTC If USTC value goes up: → APR for LUNC stakers goes up What happens next? → higher APR attracts more staking → more LUNC gets locked → circulating supply keeps decreasing And then 👇 → stronger price dynamics → more on-chain activity → more volume → more attention from builders and investors This is not just about one asset.
