    The most common misconception about @litecoin I hear being repeated is that it was built to compete with @Bitcoin. It actually wasn't, @SatoshiLite designed Litecoin to complement Bitcoin. Here's the simplest way to think about it: Bitcoin is a great store of value, but it isn’t optimized for everyday payments. Litecoin is. LTC is faster and cheaper to use for day-to-day transactions, which is exactly why it continues to see real‑world payment activity 14 years in. Bitcoin and Litecoin each advance the “digital assets as currency” case together by playing different roles.
