    Even the ZEC "insiders" have a minimal allo The Zcash Fdtn has ~85,400 $ZEC in the treasury, ~$50M Compare with Mantle, which has ~$1.8B of its own token. Reality is, majority of alt token supply is sitting with VCs or insiders. Zcash is the immaculate forgotten token.

    Life is easy when your team has cryptographers on staff: the hard problems get solved before they become urgent. Without them, you're stuck cycling through partnership announcements and roadmap posts that never turn into code. Zcash just approved ZIP 2005, the first complete post-quantum recovery design for shielded crypto. Daira-Emma Hopwood and Jack Grigg spent over a year on it, well before the recent PQ panic. The spec is finalized with formal security proofs - implementation in wallets is the next step. I read it. Here's why it matters. When quantum computers get good enough to break elliptic curve crypto, every chain using current signatures faces the same problem. An attacker can derive your private key from your public key and forge transactions. To prevent mass theft, the chain has to disable the compromised signatures at the consensus level. That means no more spending of old funds. Including yours. That's the real problem. Not "stopping theft" - the chain has to shut down old signatures anyway - but "preserving ownership" so legitimate funds aren't permanently lost when the old crypto goes dark. ZIP 2005 fixes this for Zcash's Orchard pool. It changes how shielded notes are constructed so that the link between your seed and your funds is preserved by a post-quantum binding hash, not by elliptic curve math. When old Orchard eventually gets disabled, you can prove "these funds are mine" through a future Recovery Protocol using your seed. An attacker with quantum capability still can't recover your funds - they don't have your seed, and the hash chain that proves ownership is post-quantum binding. It's insurance cryptography. You don't use it until you need to. But you have to be in the new note format before the bad day, or the recovery proof doesn't exist on chain. And the deployment is part of the design. Mostly wallet-layer work, with a small consensus rule to allow the new note format. No hard fork drama. While other chains are still debating which PQ approach to take in their next governance cycle, Zcash can start migration as soon as wallets ship. Most chains' PQ answer is still "we'll figure it out later." This one isn't.

    Zcash Quantum Recoverability ZIP 2005 merged as Proposed. Our first major buffer against quantum soundness problems is now headed toward wallet integration. As wallets update to support the ZIP, user funds will migrate. No network upgrade necessary for this step.

    I love $ZEC and the ZEC<>HYPE barbell. But i believe we'll see a significant divergence of perfs between the 2 very soon The $HYPE trade is the $SOL trade from 2024 and it happens now. It has significant ongoing catalysts and ends by sucking the air out of every other coin including $ZEC imo The $ZEC trade is a much longer term one with distant catalysts like the rise of socialism & quantum. It also has higher potential multiples than $HYPE but no urgency LGW

    Something nice about Zcash is that many different camps agree that it's truly crucial for the world. The Winklevii, Vitalik, a16z, Toly, Balaji, Paradigm, Mert, Naval, Multicoin, etc. all support it. Only exception is Bitcoin maxis, and it's pretty easy to understand why.
